Inlay Work

A few more pieces of inlays in chainmaille that I have done. It's amazing the pictures and designs one can create with multi-colored metal rings. I'm willing to undertake any inlay pattern, and you can even sew it on to fabric for an interesting patch!

The first one is a sign I made for a friend - he'd opened up a resort waaaaaay out in the woods called, "Comet Creek Resort". He built it out of rock, so I felt it only fitting that he have an epically awesome sign. Made out of galvanized steel and copper, this project took me an estimated 30 hours to complete, possibly longer. I coiled, cut and wove all the rings together completely by hand.

The second one is an "ohm" symbol inlay. It is made with aluminum and anodized aluminum, all by hand. It took me about 6 hours to make. I gave it to friends as a wedding gift.

The third is a set of coasters - I call them "card" coasters because they have the pips inlaid in them - heart, club, spade, and diamond. These are made with enameled copper all by hand. They are a little heavy because of the copper. They look great!
