Jar And Jewel Dining Server Cabinet

As the custom kitchen cabinets were designed, we worked with the cabinet-maker to create stained glass inserts for two units near the dining area. The two cabinets hold dinnerware, glasses and linens, and incorporate appliance storage that opens out onto adjacent counter-top and canned goods storage. Given the kitchen/dining location and the wish to reveal some of the cabinets' content while obscuring appliances, we decided to combine mouth-blown (antique) glass and opalescent glass along with spun rondels, glass jewels, and old canning jar lids into the door panels. An irregular grid pattern serves as a foil for the round objects, resulting in an eye-catching room accent that is both elegant and whimsical.

Dimensions: Five panels: two 8"x30" ea, two 10"x46" ea, one 21"x20"
