This flower vase has an amusing set of curly toed feet and a bit of puff to it's belly! It is 4 1/4" high by 4" wide by 3" deep. It is handbuilt from porcelain clay, carved and then layered in various colors of slip including a peacock blue-green, turquoise, steel blue and white. Very fine and careful abrasion reveals the layers. It is then bisque fired followed by clear glaze over the outside slips, and a beautiful peacock blue-green glaze on the inside and refired to 2243 degrees F. It is a very intense process taught by Micheal Sherrill, an absolutely amazing artist whom I had the good fortune of taking a workshop with this year. The surface texture of this pot is quite unusual and beautiful.
