Keepsake Box For A Boy
II was asked to create a keepsake box for a boy who was born in the year of the dragon utilizing an image provided by the buyer.
The resulting box measured 16 X 13 X 6 inches and was made primarily of walnut. The marquetry dragon inlaid in the top was composed of Asian ebony, holly, redheart, spalted alder, wenge and other exotic woods. The boy's name was inlaid in the inside of the box lid. The compartmental tray can be removed to access a larger storage compartment below.
