"Kensington Hall" - Queen Anne Period, British Style “Smoking” Table.

A piece similar to this might be found in the library or billiard room of a British Lord, or in one of the exclusive gentlemen's clubs in London. The case is made of American cherry timbers with bold cabriolet legs, terminating in the quintessential, understated, Queen Anne pad foot. It has a single, storage drawer with period appropriate hardware. The construction and joinery throughout is all true to the period. The overly large "bat wing" top is covered with leather, made to nestle between two matching leather, wing back chairs. Tables like these would hold smoking accessories and perhaps a tray with a crystal decanter of brandy and a pair of large snifters.

At the top, the table is 30" wide X 20" deep X 30" tall. The cherry has been treated with a lye solution to bring out the brilliant red-orange, then stained a rich burgundy wine color. It is finished with low VOC lacquer and polished with colored wax to match that of the period.

If true Queen Anne style is your cup of tea, we can create any piece or suite of pieces that will be authentic to the period for you.

Dimensions: 30" wide, 20" deep, 30" tall
