Kifaru

"Kifaru" is my reverie of a scene in Africa. Using pieces of driftwood from Montauk island that yearned to be a Rhino, I created a landscape with a soft brigthness to counter the abrasive charm of the great Rhinoceros. The sky is made of bluish gray barnboard, the dunes of reclaimed cedar, the base and back of douglas fir. The hot midday sun is made of mahogony. Art, like a well written song, is recieved not created. Thanks for viewing.
