Kim's, Bering Hispanos Cigar Box Uke !!

Wow this thing turned out so sweet I didn't want to give it up. My friend Kim in MO wanted me to turn her cigar box into something special. I didn't see her as picking the blues, but thought she might enjoy a baratone uke instead. Nice nice nice. I can't wait to build another. I might just have to build one to keep. This one has a neck from an old gray board I found in my barn. Scraped off the gray and I found a real nice piece of maple. Add a high gloss laquer finish on a fretted rosewood fretboard and it becomes a thing of beauty. This is the first one I've built with a scarfed neck joint, and then I added a little bracelet inlay to the headstock. Lots of fun. I keep hearing "Somewhere over the rainbow" everytime I see this thing. Sorry about the lack of pictures on this one, it left the shop rather abruptly. ..... Next time
