This kitchen island was built the way the "old ones" did it. From the frame work to the finishing of the top all the work was mortise and tenon with a few dowel and yes, a few warranted, well placed screws.

Reclaimed barn wood from Tennessee was planed, sized and put together with the heart pine inserts to the doors. The panels are from 150 year old Heart Pine beams taken out from a cotton mill factory in Georgia.

It has inlaid marble into the top and two cutting boards removable, a glass door cabinet 5" deep and a wine cooler. The posts are routed for an electrical circuit and plugs. The back has an eating counter of 16" made from Heart Pine.
