I searched for months for an oversized (7") newel post emulating the design and workmanship of 100 years ago for our farmhouse. I found Bill Pinion's site and can only say the whole experience of working with Bill has been delightful from start to finish. Top notch craftsmanship, first class professionalism.
This custom kitchen island is made of maple with a pecan stain. The legs were turned from solid maple and custom designed and carved. It also has a 1 1/4 inch hardwood top with a granite stepdown work surface. The overhang is a perfect size for seating of 2 chairs
