What a wonderful artist Michelle is! After meeting with us initially to better understand what we had in mind for the transom window, she prepared several artist drawings with suggested themes. Every one was a possibility that we could have been pleased with. With her talent it made it difficult to decide. We settled on one, then changed to another, and finally after incorporating elements from more than one, and with further changes and additions we finally settled on what has become a work of art in the 6' wide arched transom window above our 8' front doors. It incorporates elements of the family's heritage with a truly wonderful rondel at it's center.
This table lantern in composed of two parts. The lantern is stained glass with wire sculpture overlays that echo the design on the sand dollars. The base is mosaic that includes glass tesserae and actual sand dollars.
During the day, the sunlight streams through the tropical colors bringing the beach to you. At night, the oil candles placed inside the lantern cast a warm glow. It is a great addition to any lanai (patio) or bring the warmth of the beach indoors.
Dimensions: The glass lantern is approximately 6" x 6" x 9"
The mosaic base is approximately 9" x 9" x 1.5"
