Laocoon Sideboard #2
Plywood, foam, fiberglass, paint, Formica.
This piece was inspired by a famous ancient greek sculpture depicting a priest and his two sons entangled with a giant serpent from the sea (thought to be carved by the Laocoon group). The figures were carved out of architectural styrofoam, backed by plywood, then the entire piece was sprayed with fiberglass to achieve a hard, durable surface. The sideboard surface is Formica.
