Large Industrial Theme Hot Riveted Railroad Trestle Conference Table

The pictured table is inspired by the railroad bridges and other late 19th and early 20th century industrial construction found throughout the Pittsburgh area. Every piece for sale in this store is made entirely by hand in my own shop as a tribute to the craftsmen who came before us. Construction begins with locally sourced hot rolled steel strip and angle. The metal pieces are sawed to length using an antique industrial power hacksaw. Holes for the rivets are punched by hand with a compound leverage punching tool. Each of the several hundred rivets are heated individually with a torch and set with either a vintage pneumatic mechanical press or a pneumatic rivet hammer; just like over a hundred years ago. Consequently, if you look closely you will notice that each rivet is a little different; just like the real thing.

The tops are made from reclaimed bowling lanes. However, I do my very best to accommodate customer preferences. So, if you are looking for a specific shade for the top or different color for the legs or even a different size or height; please let me know. I can accommodate most of those requests at no extra charge. Unless you request otherwise, I finish the legs in a satin black powdercoat and the wood top gets a distressed finish sealed with a durable polyurethane. Each leg is equipped with four threaded leveling feet to compensate for irregular floors.

I don't know exactly what this weighs but it comes in somewhere between 400 and 500 pounds. So, when you move it into your home or office be sure to eat your Wheaties and recruit the assistance of several strong friends.

The standard width on this piece comes in somewhere between 39" and 40". You can feel free to pick a length below.
