Large-Scale Charcoal Drawing
This drawing is one of four in a series I did of the Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen. There is something about those photos that I found intriguing and wanted to recreate them on a large scale with charcoal.
This is the first drawing in the series. I had wanted to explore depth of field in a drawing, and this image not only grabbed my attention because of her intense stare and cool style but also because it was focused in the foreground while displaying blurred feathery hair in the background. It was the perfect balance.
