Large Slab Dining Table
This dining table was built for a new, upscale lake house. The customer wanted a thick slab table with a rectangular shape and interesting wood grain figure.
Two highly figured slabs from a cucumber magnolia tree were selected for the project. Cherry was chosen for the legs.
Mohawk Statesman Oak stain yielded a perfect color for the top with a bit darker stain for the legs. A satin clear coat gave a touch of shine that was just right for lake property setting.
Dimensions: Two slabs were joined to form the 48"W x 102"L x 30"H table. The top is approximately 2-1/2" thick. The cherry legs are 4-1/2" square at the top to further emphasize the mass of the piece.
