Layered Bronze Screen Wall Sconce

My client wanted a two wall sconces in her dark hallway. There were no electrical boxes for sconces so I made them to plug in at an outlet near the floor. The wire was carried to the outlet through a piece of 1/2" copper tubing. This worked well because each sconce had an outlet directly below it. The client chose a design that utilized multiple, hand hemmed, strips of bronze screen. I made the body of the fixture from copper sheet. It was handed formed into a shallow box with a metal back. It holds two candelabra base sockets with copper socket cups and brass fittings. There is a full range dimmer mounted near the bottom of the fixture. The two last pictures were taken during fabrication. All the copper and brass parts received a rubbed, bronze patina. The multiple layers of overlapping screen offer great diffusion for the bare bulbs being used. The maximum incandescent wattage is 60w. Almost any candelabra base, dimmaable, LED bulbs will work with the dimmer.
