What a wonderful artist Michelle is! After meeting with us initially to better understand what we had in mind for the transom window, she prepared several artist drawings with suggested themes. Every one was a possibility that we could have been pleased with. With her talent it made it difficult to decide. We settled on one, then changed to another, and finally after incorporating elements from more than one, and with further changes and additions we finally settled on what has become a work of art in the 6' wide arched transom window above our 8' front doors. It incorporates elements of the family's heritage with a truly wonderful rondel at it's center.
Le Hibou is a fused glass table sculpture and night light. The owl design was created using traditional glass fusing methods. The silver details were made using high fired liquid platinum.
The wood base holds the fused glass securely and can be back lit using the 4 watt bulb that is wired into the piece.
This piece is intended for a new born baby as a night light but I designed it for years of enjoyment as a part of this child's journey through life.
