This piece takes advantage of one of the fabulous slabs of Local Black Cherry that has been drying in my shop over the past several years. Used as a small coffee table or entry-way bench this is quite a versatile piece.

The Black Cherry slab top has been planed flat and smooth by hand and is accented by Black Walnut legs, a cherry trestle and hard maple wedges. All of the wood is sanded smooth to 220 and then hand rubbed with 3 coats of a natural, non-toxic linseed oil/beeswax mixture. This finish results in a lustrous look where the grain just pops out at you.

These pieces are made to order, and this is just one of the recent creations to leave the shop. This particular table measured 60'' in length and 17 1/2'' in height. The top slab averages about 10'' in width and is about 8'' at it's narrowest and 12'' at its widest point. The live edge areas have been sanded smooth and all edges have been rounded over.
