This live edge coffee table is made from a beautiful slab of figured black walnut. The table top was a remnant cut from a larger build and thus recycled/upcycled opposed to being discarded. It was way to gorgeous not to create something with this chunky slab of hardwood. Note the bold dragon tail figuring that appears like a starburst from one corner throughout the center of the coffee table. It's naturally striking! The top has been planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in a proprietary satin sheen poly. The finish is able to handle moisture, heat and daily usage. The table top had multiple deep drying checks. The checks have been filled with a tinted resin. One portion of the coffee table features a straight edge (not live edge). The legs for the coffee table are x-style tubular steel that have been sprayed in a satin black poly. The finish on the steel legs not only protects the steel, but also ties in the chocolates, dark browns and blacks found on the table top. This handmade piece of furniture is a great mix of modern, rustic, industrial and contemporary design. It's a versatile piece that can fit in with any interior design scheme.
