This table is made of a slab of white oak, about 1" thick. The wood has such a beautiful grain and I did my best to highlight that. The bark was stripped from the edges and then the edges were smoothed to avoid snags. But the character was kept intact.
The legs are raw steel "hairpin" legs at coffee table height, about 18" inches. These give stability and add an industrial look without taking away from the overall look.
The proportions are good, well-balanced. The legs enhance the natural, live edge top which in turn highlight the legs. It all just works.
The finish is tung oil with a poly top. This keeps the natural look without adding color while still protecting the wood.
