Extremely rare river recovered Curly Sinker Pine live edge wood slab dining table with a beautiful gloss finish. This rare wood truly is a piece of American history. This slab comes from a log that was cut down by hand with an axe almost a century ago.
During Americas logging boom these Heart Pine trees were floated down the Suwannee River in Northwestern Florida to sawmills down stream. Along the way some of these logs would become waterlogged and sink to the bottom. Almost a 100 years later from when these trees were first cut they are being recovered from the rivers. The soil in Northwestern Florida is a sandy soil that is bright red from the nutrients it contains. The red nutrients of the sandy river bottom soaked into the logs giving them amazing color hues.
