After almost 20 years of our 2 sons playing hockey (skating lessons, driving to and from practices, enjoying and sometimes enduring freezing cold, competitive games, managing countless teams, President of the my son’s HS Hockey Club, penalty box door man, clock manager and statistician, social coordinator for after game noshes, parent enthusiast and one year of being “snack mom”) my husband can now put his feet up and just relax! Our hockey chair came out better than I had envisioned! (A foot rest was also included which I wasn’t expecting!) Karl from KMR Works was terrific. He was thorough and professional in his communication with me, his craftsmanship is exceptional and he even made arrangements to meet me with my project to avoid the pricey shipping costs. The chair is also custom made to include our last name and son’s hockey numbers. A nice touch personal touch. Truly a 5 star experience all around! I wish I could give him 5+ in all of the categories. My husband loves it and each time we take a seat in it, we will reflect on the many happy years of memories at the rink! Thank you Karl!
This table has a beutiful piece of curly maple with ambrosia staining as it's focal point. The top appears to float off of the frame... During the finishing process a dead ambrosia beetle was found in one of the holes that it had bored into the wood. It has been permanently sealed in with epoxy as this beetle was what originally "made" this piece of wood so special. The steel was welded and has all of the welds ground flat. The steel will receive a clear matte finish. The wood top had all of its holes epoxied closed and flat. The wood then received 5 coats of hand rubbed satin polyurethane.
