This is a unique piece made of a "cookie" of sugar maple cut from a tree in my neighborhood. I air-dried the cookie for over a year, then smoothed it out and finished it.
The legs are made of solid Wisconsin Black Walnut. The stretcher at the bottom of each pair of legs is made from a branch of Honeysuckle which was cut from my own yard.
The table is finished with multiple coats of shellac to emphasize and not distraact from the wood.
The result is a beautiful conversation piece that just makes you want to go over and touch it!
