Live Edge Trestle Table

Custom live edge Elm table with a contemporary split-leg trestle base. Built by hand in my garage workshop here in Bellevue.

Table base: The attached photos show a contemporary split-leg trestle base that I designed. However, if you prefer a different trestle base style, I can accommodate that as well.

Table top: I have dozens of slabs that are approximately 16"-22" wide which I can join together to create large 36"+ wide tables. Standard table length I build is 6'-7' feet, however 8'-10' is available as well for an extra fee.

As part of the build process I will epoxy all voids in the slab and can also add 'bow tie' (or dutchman) splines to secure any large natural cracks (called 'checks') in the slab top. I prefer oil/varnish blend wipe-on finishes - they provide the best balance of silky smooth feel and durability, but I am open to other finish options.

Standard wood options are: Elm, Spalted Maple, Spalted Madrone, and old growth Douglas fir. All lumber has been salvaged from diseased or storm damaged local trees on Orcas Island. However, if you prefer a single mega-slab (e.g. 32-42" wide x 6'-8' long) I can source that as well in maple, walnut, etc but they are very spendy (assume $600-$850 just for the wood)

The photos in this listing show an elm slab top (this one happens to be a single large slab), elm bench, and elm trestle table base. The trestle base and bench are both stained a light brown, the top was kept natural with an oil/varnish blend finish.

Only available for delivery to the greater Seattle area. I am happy to provide photos along the way of the building process.
