Locking Ladies Jewelry Box

Ladies Locking Jewelry cabinet in the style of a 17th century Chester County Spice Box. The woods are highly figured African Mahogany Heartwood and Lacewood but these can vary at your request. It is approximately 22" tall, 14" wide, & 12" deep... A dovetail construction carcass with book-matched frame and panel door enclose 11 differently sized drawers and two hidden compartments. The drawers are built with halfblind dovetails in the front and full dovetails in the rear. All drawers, except the center compartment, us solid brass drop pulls and have velvet lined bottoms. There are two large drawers, two medium drawers, six small drawers. The center drawer is actually a two sided bracelet/necklace hanger compartment. Two of the small drawers are ring drawers capable of hold 10 or more rings each. As to the hidden compartments... I'll tell you where they are when you get he cabinet. The piece uses all solid brass and steel hardware including fully mortised hinges, lock, and escutcheon. Both the cornice and base moldings were custom designs done in my shop. You won't find anything like this and at this quality in any retail outlet and it will be around for your great grandchildren to remember you by. It would make the perfect gift for anyone wanting a fine piece of craftsmanship to hold their jewelry, valuables, or keepsakes. I have built this cabinet with the center drawer as a piggy bank (in the case of children) or a humidor (for a mans' keepsakes box). The styling is classic and works well in any study, home office, bedroom, or dressing room.
