Made of salvaged old growth, Douglas fir floor joists from a demolished industrial building in Chicago, this dining table will seat up to 12 people. The table is finished with a mixture of oil and poly, covered with wax.
As much of the work made by Dilettante Studios, the table was designed and built intuitively, one decision at a time. After the idea of the x-form emerged, the base was established, and support added as needed.
Dilettante believes in the surprising beauty of ad hoc, intuitive, responsive design, slowly developed through the process of building.
