Lovely Lace Dress In Shades Of Lavender

Lovely lace dress in shades of lavender

This sleeveless dress is made of crocheted lace, using cotton thread. The lace pattern was inspired by a tablecloth pattern. I hand-dyed it to make the graduated lavender color after I finished crocheting it. It buttons down to a few inches of the bottom hem with mother-of-pearl buttons. The entire dress is edged in small scallops, including the armscyes. The diagonal crochet design and the shape of the pattern make the dress clingy on the top and flowing on the skirt. This item very versatile since you can dress it up or down depending on what you wear (or don't wear) underneath it. A satin shift of a contrasting color would look lovely with it.

This dress was made with all upcycled materials. The cotton thread came from thrift stores and the buttons were salvaged from shirts.
