Maple Burl Natural Wall Hanging
A pair of maple burls that are book matched ( consecutive slices from a tree or burl that are opened up like a book ). Burls are abnormal growths on a tree and the cause is unknown. Where I live maple and cherry are the most common hardwoods that make burls. The right burl is approx. 20" x 13" and the left burl is approx. 21 1/2" x 16". Both have the center of the tree gone. These are finished with clear acrylic polyurethane. The clear finish lets the natural beauty of the wood be the focus.
