This is a sample of a set of nightstands I made for a client. The wood is soft maple, finished with multiple coats of shellac. The drawer front is made of hard maple and is tinted slightly darker than the rest of the piece.
Here is another example of my belief that Nature is the best artist. I'd rather finish wood with a simple coat of shellac and highlight the inherent beauty in the wood. These nightstands show this well. Soft maple has a beautiful grain pattern - not too heavy but very pretty. And the drawer fronts have a bit of spalting that just makes it all "pop"!
The nightstand is 18" deep, 28" high and 19" wide. They are a gorgeous addition any bedroom - just the thing for your light and clock radio!
