I've created several of these unique driftwood benches which can be coated with either a marine spar varnish or an outdoor water based poly, both outdoor finishes containing UV inhibitors, so they can be perfect for the garden or patio. Every bench is different in look and approach as no one piece of driftwood is ever alike. They are created using rescued woods, which come from saving dead trees people cut down and driftwood from flood debris.

I don't like to create just straight legged log benches that you always see, so I search out for wood with character and curves. For example, on the first one I ever created (one of the benches pictured), I found an interesting twisting and branching piece of driftwood that took me a minute to visualize, but I was able to get 4 supports and a small backrest all from that one piece.
