This is an example of a small icon that lights up! It is possible for me to construct them with internal LED lights. A friend told me about a dream she had and I elaborated it on it a bit--put it in a biblical context. She uses it as a night light.
You may be wondering about the location of the light switch...this is based on the ideas in a terrific book, "The Sexuality of Christ in Renaissance Art and Modern Oblivion" by Leo Steinberg.
By the way, I am particularly proud of the rose window behind Christ. It is that ubiquitous childhood art project--crayon shavings, placed between 2 sheets of wax paper and then melted with an iron. Who didn't love doing that as a kid? I used that method, but decided to control the distribution of the crayon shavings, making them into a specific pattern.
