This is a heavily modified 1980's Fender Gemini II acoustic guitar which was in sad condition and desperately needed a new direction in life. I call it "Remember the Elephant".
I stripped and sanded the entire guitar, removed and re-set the bridge which was pulling up, altered the shape of the headstock and created a steel, brass and copper piece to adorn it.
I added wood-burned details to the sides (accentuated with stain-painted elements) and a "nested" collage of metallic wallpapers, an elephant, a modified crop circle and the face of Ganesha, a Hindu deity.
The collaged sections have been sealed with numerous coats of an acrylic sealer and the back and sides have been sealed with tung oil. The back has a stain-painted design on it and the back of the headstock has been signed and titled. The guitar plays nicely and has a nice sound.
