"Montecristo" Click "Stretch" Ballpoint Pen in Honduran Mahogany and Maple with Rhodium Metal
This is a newer pen I've been making. I think I'm going to make them only with wood versus resin, as they really show off the wood! No center band to get in the way, just a long, beautiful body. This wood gets me back to my roots, working with wood. I inlay strips of mahogany covered with a paper-thin strip of maple into the blank, in a crossing pattern. It really reminds me of a good cigar, and I tried to mimic the shape of a cigar. It writes great and I'm pleased with the shape. The tip extends by clicking the button with your thumb, a great feature if you're pulling it in and out of a pocket often, like a doctor. The refill is a Parker type refill, available anywhere. It's superbly balanced, and writes great. A medium sized barrel, for any hand. The metal is a heavy chrome plate. Got a cigar lover in your life? They'll love this one!
