I got the inspiration to the motif one balmy evening in August a couple of years ago as I stepped out of my favorite restaurant here in Valley Center. I saw the full moon rising behind a large oak tree, the air filled with the sweet aroma of mimosa. When I arrived home I immediately sketched down what I had seen. Later I fine tuned the drawing, transferred sections of it to packs of veneer and spent a good three weeks cutting it on my scroll saw. The back ground veneer is kewazinga / waterfall bubinga. The rest of the motif is quilted maple, poplar, walnut, mahogany and many other species of wood.
Dimensions: The headboard shown is queen size. It can be made in any size.
