I think creating a unique look in a powder room is one of most satisfying projects in a home....it is also one of the most important rooms in a home as it is where your guests usually freshen themselves up while visiting. Likely it is one of the smaller rooms so the costs to design and decorate it tend to be more modest than any other room in the house too...so its a chance to really pull the stops out and do something a bit more striking.
In this room the homeowner gave me carte blanche conceptually to develop an idea that fit the high end yet rustic nature of the log and stone that was used extensively throughout the 5,000 sf mountain retreat. Since I love to work with mirrors, leather and specialty finishes, I decided to combine all three. The hair on hide wainscot with the embossed cowboy leather chair rail was a fun detail to implement. And the hand rubbed plaster walls are all old school...no premixed veneer finishes for me)))
