Customer requested Sports Storage Lockers to store various sporting equipment, clothing, and school materials. Four Locker units were constructed off site, painted, and assembled. Both base cabinets with drawers and upper cabinets with two doors were constructed, delivered to the site, and installed. The bench top is a solid red oak panel measuring
1-1/4" thick x 20" wide x 96" long. A unique feature of the backs to the Lockers was that they were made from reclaimed local barn wood; they were cleaned & brushed, painted, and installed in the backs of the Lockers.
Drawers were constructed with dovetail joinery and move effortlessly on ball bearing, soft close drawer slides. European style hidden hinges are adjustable 3 ways for alignment, while the customer selected local drawer & door pulls to compliment the Sports Storage Lockers. The total set of four Lockers with base cabinets measures approximately: 9'-0" tall x 20"wide x 96" long.
After priming the wood for the Lockers, 3 coats of a satin interior white paint was applied, with a fine sanding between layers to maintain smoothness. An additional feature requested after installation of the Lockers was the installation of crown molding above the Lockers and part of the Mud Room.
