Nakashima Inspired Coffee Table

This piece is made of black walnut. The top is made form a crotch section with free form edges and includes monkeywood butterflies. The design was inspired by the great George Nakashima. The leg on the crotch end is coopered and hand carved on a radius. The legs opposite are supported by dominoes and a dovetail in the back and reinforced with a screw that has been plugged. This design has room for improvements, but this was the first table from this idea.

Dimensions: Dimensions vary based on wood selected, availability of lumber and planing capacity. This design sits 17.5" high, 42" Long, 25" at its widest, and 12" at its shortest width.
