Live edge table was created to emphasize the unique fluid grain patterns found in both Sycamore and Jatoba wood. Sycamore is a species of tree that highlights its medullary rays when properly cut. These rays yield a highly interesting visual found on the surface. This was mounted this wood on a base of Brazilian Jatoba. This species of wood showcases a strong linear grain pattern used in the execution for both its strength and density. The Jatoba wood completes the artwork with an elegant soft sheen finish. The artwork is fashioned by using design features in the style polarized by furniture and woodworker, George Nakashima (1905-1990).
