Nanny's Bench

Originally used on plantation verandas, this porch rocker is based on several photographs within the SC Room of the Charleston Library. The base is generous (20 inches deep) and slightly scooped which allows for long term rocking sessions. An infant (and pets) are placed within the rocker, guarded by the rear spindles and the front gate. Toddlers sit facing forward with their legs under the gate; in this configuration, they will provide all the rocking motion needed. With the gate removed, adults will enjoy rocking maybe as much as with toddlers on board. Available in lengths of 5' and, at increased pricing, 6', 7', 8', 10', and even longer, if you have the space. Available in Cherry, Mahogany, Maple, Sapele, and Walnut.
