Native American Indian Art Wood Carving Framed in Natural Bark - Carved Artists Version of Mount Rushmore
This carving was framed in natural bark and twig to give it a rustic feel.
I was inspired to create this piece due to my strong beliefs in our true Forefathers the way it should have been. The insult of Rushmore is at least three-fold.
1. It was built on land the government took from them.
2. The Black Hills in particular are considered sacred ground.
3. The monument celebrates the European settlers who killed so many Native Americans and appropriated their land.
This carving measures 27" wide x 18" long but I would be pleased to make a similar version for you either a smaller, larger or approximately the same size carving.
This piece was carved from reclaimed local wood, framed with reclaimed natural birch and it will come to you ready to hang.
