Naturalist's Natural Edge Coat Rack

Sustainable, functional beauty.

As an environmental educator I enjoy connecting people with the wonders of our natural world. I have a tremendous amount of interest in the trees that shape our forests- from their ability to sustain our ecosystems to their uniqueness and beauty.

Our coat racks are constructed using natural edge planks of local hardwoods. These planks are sustainably harvested right here in the southern Appalachian mountains. A natural edge reminds the user from the forest from which it comes, and a contrasting slat of wood with matching wood dowels provides a stylish, yet rustic, accent.

These sturdy coat racks will accommodate a wide assortment of items, including coats, hats, bags, leashes and more. They are finished with a non-toxic when cured finish and include mounting hardware. Custom sizes can vary from 18 inches in length to up to 36 inches in length. Any number of dowel pegs can be added, but a ratio of one peg per six inches is suggested.

Cherry, walnut and maple are the most common selections for the base plank, but if you have an interest in a different species of tree we're happy to track one down. Price is based upon length, $2.75 per inch (for instance, an 18-inch long coat rack features two pegs and costs $50.00).
