This piece is 20" in diameter. It is three pieces of cast glass bonded together. The center piece has relief on the back side, depicting the vein structure of a large leaf, and was coated with silver leaf. The side pieces are smooth, demonstrating the dynamics of vitreous flow when using two different types of glass (transparent, and opaque). The three pieces were joined using an acrylic backing.

These pieces were created as wall pieces for patient rooms in a hospital. The intention is for the lighting to be directed at the surface, not passing through the piece.
