This is a Shaker inspired table of white oak. It is suitable as a nightstand or side table. The wood is reclaimed stock from an Indiana covered-bridge built in the mid-19th century. I salvaged it during a renovation several years ago.

The top is a bookmatched panel with mortise-and-tenon clamps, also called breadboard-ends. There are two butterfly keys to stabilize a grain defect in the old wood. The edge of the top features an 18 degree bevel on the underside. The legs are joined to the aprons with mortises and tenons. The upper drawer rail is dovetailed into the tops of the front legs, adding rigidity and strength to the piece. The drawer features dovetails and a solid yellow pine bottom. Stained a dark reddish color and finished with lacquer and waxed.

Dimensions: 24"W X 16"D X 28"H
