The customer I built this box for is a professional dog groomer. She was tired of her carless co-workers barrowing tools without her permission and not returning them. The other issue was her tools were being stored in a tool chest, much like in a garage. It was hard to keep things organized in the drawer when it was constantly being opened and closed.
So my solution was to build a locking box with tool specific compartments and cut outs. The cutouts for the scissors and clippers have several very powerful rare earth magnets behind a thin layer of oak. The hidden magnets keep the clippers in place while the lid is being opened and closed. Another great feature of this box was the cord reel for the electric clippers. The customer had replaced that cord 3 times due to it becoming twisted from being stuffed in a drawer. Although this isn't the most beautiful box I've ever built if serves its purpose and is very functional.
