Obi-Inspired Belt In Tan, Off-White And Black

Obi-inspired belt in tan, off-white and black

Traditional money belts are fugly. They tend to be made of tacky beige fabric and add an unsightly pudge to a lady's middle. This money belt is attractive and flattering to many shapes. It is not even an obvious place to store a little cash, credit cards, or whatever small objects you may want to stash. As a bonus, it is entirely made of upcycled materials.

The outside was made from vintage cotton canvas fabric samples. The ties and thread are also upcycled cotton. The inside lining was a linen shirt. It is accented with free-hand machine sewing and hand embroidery. It has a buttonhole in both of the side seams so the ends can lap over each other. The buttonholes are made and decorated to blend in with the overall design.

Practical, stylish, and eco-friendly. What could be better?
