Office - Library With Paneling & Coffered Ceiling

This traditional English library was designed and built for the previous home of president, Woodrow Wilson, c 1895.
Solid, quartered oak wood wall panels surround the window and doors, including 24" deep paneled window jambs & heads.
The windows are framed with arched beams that rest on custom corbels.
Bookcases, cabinets and a fireplace surround the rest of the room which move in and out with the help of refined transitional moldings.

Above the wall paneling and cabinets is a stepped out soffit, faced with small repetitive square panels that lead to the facier of the coffered beam & paneled ceiling.
The cabinets transition into the soffit with a 2" cove molding as does the ceiling beam to the ceiling panels.
Not seen are the cabinet with beveled glass doors that protect the owners prized books.
This traditional library is entirely quartered sawn oak with a deep toned, multi step satin lacquer finish.installed on site, pre-finished. All panels and molding are glued in place. There are no visual means of attachment to be seen.

A few words about Tailored Rooms...
Meticulously detailed, a 'Tailored Room' is your special place to enjoy. I call these rooms, 'tailored', because of the exact custom fit and the amount of attention to every detail that goes into every square inch of these very personal rooms.
Whether it's a library, office, bar, game room, family room, media room or bedroom. The walls, windows, jambs, doors, floor, ceiling are brought together with the cabinets, paneling and transitional moldings to present a completely, "Tailored Room".
From contemporary to traditional, eclectic or theme, whatever your design period or style tastes may be, we'll design, build and install, the room for you.
