Oil Portraits

All of the portraits shown on this site were done in person, with the exception of the Refugee. I took the photograph of the refugee and her child in Sudan during the civil war and later did the painting as an homage to the dignity of refugees and women. The young man was running in a marathon in Loudoun County, Va. The smiling woman was a commission in New York City. The smoker was from a street person I met in Washington, DC.
