This is actually my kitchen at home. The doors are an inch thick and the sidewalls are 1&1/2 inches thick. It's hard to appreciate how deeply articulated the panels are from the photos. Nobody builds this way anymore but I did it for myself. My wife talked me into a barn red stain (built from poplar / was made to be painted). We have subsequently painted the cabs a blood red. All counter tops are 2" thick rock maple that we fabricated (not butcher block). Too many details to mention here. You can't see the dining area from these photos. The whole room is twice as large as the wide angle photo. Everybody (family and friends) like to hang out in this room.
