A commission of oil on stretched canvas for a Family Law practice in Northern California.
The head partner saw a small painting I had made and asked if I could reproduce it on a large scale for the office.
The original small piece was 11 x14 inches. The third photo is the original source photo uncropped. For this large painting of 30 x 40 inches, I re-cropped the original photo (second photo) to be better represented on that scale.
The colors are cool with the composition designed to draw you through the work. First you look at the father's head and travel from there to the boy in his bright red shirt. You follow their intended path to the rock outcrop in the distance, then follow the horizon back down through the crashing waves.
