Opalite Semi-Flush Mount Ceiling Light
I wanted to make a wall of semi-precious stones for light to shine through. Opalite, though actually glass, is beautiful because it appears blue or yellow depending on the angle from which it is viewed. The fixture uses a small 120 v halogen bulb. The metal parts used are all solid brass.
A similar light could be constructed with quartz or fluorite or another stone, with the price increasing to use real natural semi-precious stone beads. Being in Tucson gives me easy access to the huge annual gem show and fairly reasonable prices on stones.
