The plates Ellen made for me were fantastic. She was more concerned about the look of the final glaze than me. I couldn't be more pleased with her design. I planned to order some small bowls after I return from my next trip
This is one of my ceramic "storyboxes." It is 13 x 9 x 4 and makes a uniques wall art piece. I use this box-niche format a lot because it gives me and opportunity to make sculptural elements and hang them on walls. This particular piece was made for a show at a local gallery entitled "Fringes of the San Fernando Valley". I wanted to feature the animals which live around me. I'd love to make this one again because it was very popular.
Note: The unglazed red clay body and other glazes work very well for this piece.
